Josh Schaap

Licensed Professional Counselor

Josh earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Lancaster Bible College and Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. He has considerable experience providing mental health support in a variety of settings including psychiatric inpatient, residential recovery, and outpatient. Josh is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment that fosters healing, growth, and lasting change.

Josh is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and well-versed in interventions taken from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Attachment-based Therapy. Josh’s passion for his work comes from a desire for each of his clients to gain the necessary insights and skills needed to face their struggles, fears, and pain with courage and self-compassion.

In his spare time, Josh enjoys listening to audiobooks and podcasts, engaging in one of his multiple hobbies, and spending quality time with his wife, daughter, and their dog, Lilo.
